TAYLOR HEALTH UPDATE

Just wanted to update you guys on Taylor’s health. She has bronchitis and although she is getting better, she has been advised by her doctor that she is not well enough to perform this week. Her concert dates in Charlotte and Atlanta have been rescheduled and she plans to resume the Speak Now tour in Montreal. Charlotte will now be November 16. Atlanta will now be October 1 & 2. Thank you for your concern!

We all hope she’ll get better soon. And to everyone who booked tickets, hopefully you could go to the rescheduled ones. If you couldn’t go, try contacting the venue/the website you booked your tickets from or check your email inbox for refund information (some online ticket sites sent out emails re:refund for those who cannot go).

“I’ve heard the expression that when you’re a writer you have the toughest hours because you never stop working… every single day, all hours of the night,” says Swift, who wrote her very first song the same day that she learned to play three chords on a computer repairman’s guitar when she was 12 years old.

“I don’t really write songs in a structure. I write about my life. And it helps me to feel better about anything causing me pain or confusion. It’s a little addictive because it helps you figure things out in your life. If I think of a line that paints a picture, I’ll write it down. Some [songs] come four lines at a time and I’ll have a chorus. Other times I really have to work at it. But I have to say that my favorite songs were all written really quick.”

TAYLOR SWIFT TO MAKE SPECIAL APPEARANCE WITH THE BLACK EYED PEAS AT THE CHASE PRESENTS “CONCERT 4 NYC” TO BENEFIT ROBIN HOOD ON JUNE 9

(New York, NY June 7, 2011) – Four-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift will make a special appearance with The Black Eyed Peas at the historic Chase presents the “Concert 4 NYC” in Central Park on June 9th. In addition to Taylor Swift, Natasha Bedingfield, MC Hammer, Debbie Harry, LL Cool J and Carole King will perform to support the Robin Hood Foundation and its mission to fight poverty in New York City. Robin Hood has enlisted celebrity friends to help bring awareness and raise funds for the Foundation including Zach Braff, Whoopi Goldberg, Jimmy Smits and others who will make special appearances throughout the evening. Chase, the largest private-sector employer in New York City, is the presenting sponsor. Clear Channel is the event’s exclusive radio partner.

Concertgoers must have a ticket to enter the event. Tickets are still available for sale to this once-in-a-lifetime event through http://blackeyedpeasnyc.eventbrite.com/.

“We are thrilled to have Taylor on board to benefit two very important causes,” said Fergie of The Black Eyed Peas. “Not only will she will be an amazing addition to our lineup, she is an incredible inspiration to people of all ages and her music gives a voice to those who feel left behind.”

Taylor Swift is the reigning Billboard Top 200 Albums Artist and Entertainment Weekly and Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year, the top-selling digital artist in music history, has had singles top both the Country and Pop radio charts, and in 2010 sold more albums than any other artist in any genre of music. Her current album, Speak Now, sold over 1 million copies in its debut week and is the biggest debuting country studio album in history, and her 6x-Platinum Fearless album is the most awarded album in Country music history.

The concert will raise funds and awareness for Robin Hood, a public charity targeting poverty in New York City by funding and partnering with the best and most effective programs. Robin Hood’s grants and guidance support food pantries, homeless shelters, health clinics and provide work-force training for impoverished New Yorkers in the five boroughs. As part of the partnership with The Black Eyed Peas, Robin Hood will fund the opening of three Peapod Academies in New York City over the coming years, which will support disadvantaged youth, by providing music and artistic education, such as music engineering, mixing and video editing, among other opportunities.
